Biography
They started their life as a single brilliant scientist, who was lost to time after an accident.
Long ago, an Ancient Lightning dragon named Rynn became trapped in the Wyrmwound on a research expedition to the Scarred Wasteland. Slipping from the cliff with barely the time to open his wings, he quickly became trapped by the strange fluid. Abandoned for dead by his colleagues, he himself believed he was drowning, but awoke days later, alive - but changed. He could no longer return to his colleagues, but was quickly accepted by the hidden clans amongst the Wastelands; his new kin and fellow monstrocities.
Over time, his second head slowly was produced. At one point in his life, he may have been disgusted at such a development, but his attitude had evolved in the Wastes. The second head he treated as a little brother, naming him Vex. While Vex doesn't have the booksmarts of Rynn, he's still quick-witted. That said, Vex prefers moving around, and Rynn is happy to let Vex take control of the body while he plots out their next move.
Rynn often acts as a teacher to Vex - Rynn is eagar to share his knowledge but patient with his brother, and Vex is always appreciative of the new information. Vex has never gotten the hang of writing (nor has he needed to, hiding out in the Wasteland), but Rynn is a lover of language and has adapted well to the changes in the spoken and written Draconic language.
Rynn intends to return to a life of science... for the most part.
Revenge For The Fall
When Aberrations became known to the rest of Dragonkind, the pair was eager to try life in a new clan. Though forever grateful to the fellows who took them in and showed them the ways of survival, Rynn craved to see the Shifting Expanse once more. Vex was excited to lay eyes on it for the first time.
But not all reunions are joyous. Rynn still remembers his fall into the Wyrmround with accute clarity. He knows he didn't fall, but was pushed. He suspects he knows who did it, but cannot be sure. That said, it must have been one of his colleagues. About that, there is no doubt. One condemed him to death, and the others stood by the killer by fleeing the scene; no one even attempting to lend a claw.
While Rynn does not necessarily regret his situation, he still dreams of revenge. Vex wants to honor that, though he's conflicted with the idea that without Rynn's fall, he himself would not exist. Still, Rynn is his brother, and he would do anything for his brother.
The temptation to seek revenge high, the pair (who collectively answer to Rynvex), joined a caravan, planning to find a permanent clan at one of their stops. However, they met with Leafy, a researcher who specialized in Ancient clans, who currently lived in the caravan clan. Charming and quite clever, they became quite smitten with her, and decided that, perhaps, a caravan clan wouldn't be so bad.
Rynn discussed with her his ideas for revenge, including revealing to dragonkind the Ancient Lightning dragons. He asked for her help to locate them, not knowing where they would be in the modern world, but she refused. "The Ancients will reveal themselves in time. If you must make amends, then at least do the rest of your kind the honor of choosing their own path back to dragonkind."
Okay, Rynn thought. So, we wait.
