Biography
Hawk of Clan Arcadia
Hawk is the dedicated leader of Clan Arcadia. She cares deeply for her clanmates, whom she considers family. Her lair is a half-crumbled keep made of ancient white stone and nestled within a somewhat sparse forest. Though they are few, the space is a perfect home. It is for that reason so many come to visit, even for a short while, just to enjoy some time in the sunlight.
Her mate, Lathander, is the quiet sort, but even though few words are ever exchanged between the two, their bond is unshakeable. From their dwelling they oversee their peaceful, heavenly territory. Though they have no offspring, it is suspected this soon shall change...
A small number of dragons that visit Arcadia Keep decide to stay, but an even smaller portion decide they want not only to call Clan Arcadia "home" but also to continue their journey. These dragons, Clan Arcadia's wandering spirits, visit many clans in many other Flights. They often write home of their journeys. Hawk receives letters from a Spiral dragon called Sonnet, who has set out in search of inspiration for her writings and new friends to make and keep. The letters they share become Hawk's prized possessions, each a token of their unshakeable bond.
Dear Sonnet,
I hope Terrana and this letter found you well. After we said our final goodbyes, I realized I had forgotten to ask you: you'll write home every now and again, won't you? I know you do so very much love to write, and although you do so well writing about very interesting things and in beautiful ways - but if you ever have the time and ink to spare, we'd all love to hear from you about your adventures from time to time. It is always so pleasant to read your writings we already miss you so very much!
Don't forget to tell us where you plan on going, too, Sonnet. It can be a bit hard for couriers to find you if they've no direction! Terrana practically leapt at the chance to bring you my message, but I wouldn't feel so fair sending her away again if I'm not certain of your direction. Moreso, I want to know you're staying safe. Sornieth is vast and dangerous, and many clans are unwelcoming to those of stranger flights or, sometimes, of stranger clans. I advise you to stay away from the Scarred Wasteland, if you can.
I don't want you falling ill. You'll come home if you fall ill, won't you? And you'll tell us if you need anything, like food or warm clothes?
Sonnet, I don't wish to distract you too long on your journeys, and I fear the length of my letter has done just that, so I shall let you return to your quest. Do write home and stay in touch where you can, but most importantly, enjoy your quest and find your inspiration! We all love you very much, little wyrm!
Sincerely,
Auntie Hawk
Dear Auntie Hawk (and everyone at home),
Terrana made it alright! It was such a pleasant surprise to see her! I've only just departed and I already miss you and the rest of the Clan! I'm still not entirely sure where I'll end up, but I've headed west for now, out towards the Sea of a Thousand Currents. I'll write home as soon as I get some direction. I can hardly believe I'm out on my own, it's already so exhilarating. Even just on the other side of the Sunbeam Ruins I've seen such vastly different wildlife! And before you ask, no, I haven't encountered any Beastclans. Terrana was very diligent about scouting the territory I've temporarily claimed for some rest, and she can confirm we're quite far from any. AND yes, I'll tell you if I really need anything, but I'm sure if I need any food or clothes I can find them on my travels!
I swear I'll write home often. Oats can carry my letters so the clan doesn't have to make the trip and be at high risk - it'll be a lot easier for him to find home than for you all to try and find me! If I come up with any new poetry or discover a fascinating new subject, I promise to send home a sample of my work. I can't promise it'll be any good though, haha!
Anyway, I'm so happy to hear from you already. I'll send another letter home soon with Oats once I know for sure where I'm going.
Love you all, too!
Sonnet
