One of the first Aberrations hatched outside of the Wyrmwound, Aegis spends his youth watching fire-based coatl lairs from a distance. Confused and unimpressed with his parents' chaos, he longs to join modern dragon society.

But this proves not to be easy. The coatls he so admired are scared half to death of him, stopping their activities entirely when he gets too close. Refusing to give up so easily, he wanders from lair to lair, trying to put to use the body language he's picked up from them despite his lack of ear frills.

In the end, Magisa is the first coatl to give him the time of day. She's scared at first, but her overpowering curiosity is stronger, and soon she's asking him any question that comes to mind. Aegis is flattered at first, but soon realizes he doesn't know his own culture all that well. Panicking that she'll lose interest if he doesn't supply the answers she needs, he attaches himself to a nearby group of aberrations.

Even now, he is unaware that Magisa is simply using him to spy on this new potential threat.
