The Gatekeeper of the Abyss - Lesser Demon

Cerberus is a lesser demon who guards the gates of the Abyss, the realm of demons. As such, Cerberus is not a demon of anything, as its sole purpose is to guard the gates and consume any intruders, or anyone dumb enough to try to escape the Abyss. It is said that Cerberus is not very intelligent, more often devouring anyone that comes close than actually doing its job properly.

As gatekeeper of the Abyss, Cerberus directly answers to the Abyssal King, the ruler of the Abyss, and king of demons. Some demonologists believe that Cerberus is a direct creation of the Abyssal King, but as with most of demonology, there is little to no evidence.

Whether there is a gate to the Abyss or not is a point of contention, as many believe it is a real, physical gate that serves as the entrance to the Abyss, but seeing as it has never been found, many others believe that this "gate" is metaphorical, and is in actuality a metaphor for death, specifically death via demon, as many demons claim the souls of their victims, sending them to the Abyss. Regardless, Cerberus is still a dangerous entity, whether or not the gate is real. 		xxxxxx
