Zidane was adopted in from another clan. He is promised as a mate to Aria, the daughter of the clan Matriarch. This technically means that he is part of the clan royalty, but he really doesn't care about things like that. Zidane is a rambunctious young dragon, and sometimes he lets his mouth get away from him. He somewhat idolizes Rod, who is just slightly older than himself. To be honest, he has a bit of a crush on Rod, but seeing as 1) he is too young right now, and 2) he is to be mated to the clan's Matriarch's daughter, and 3) Zidane cannot produce the precious crystal eggs if he were to be mated with Rod; Zidane has to be content with his secret crush on Rod.

Zidane likes Aria, but he isn't sure what he thinks of the entire future mate thing, but they are still young. He is somewhat resentful that the clan used a scroll on him to make him crystal. He liked his previous gene just fine. It helps that Aria liked his previous gene as well and told him that, so Zidane doesn't think she is as stuck up as her mother (he thinks Kin is very stuck up). Unfortunately, it was more dominant than Aria's crystal gene, and Zidane became crystal just like Aria.
