Fault wasn't always like this, nor was she always named Fault. She had been born a Skydancer and was still a hatchling when the Aberrations were discovered, monstrous approximations of what a dragon ought to be. As a hatchling she convinced her brothers to visit the Wyrmwound, out of morbid curiosity. The three stood bravely—well, as bravely as they could manage—on the edge of the lake, trying to catch a glimpse of something, anything, in the bubbling surface below. That's when the bank shifted.

Fault felt her talons slip and she barreled towards the lake, her brothers close behind. She swam to the edge as fast as she could, feeling quite a bit more cowardly, and clambered out of the rep-ugnant waters. She turned to her brothers; they had been right behind her moments ago, but were now nowhere to be seen. She cried out for them, and realized she had a second voice. The terrified hatchling ran away as best she could in her new and unwieldy body, deciding then and there that she could never go back home, that she could never face her parents again. For months she mourned her brothers, her once elegant Skydancer form, and all the dragons she could never see again, all lost to the Scarred Wasteland's wretched wound.

After the incident, she was found by another monstrosity who introduced itself as Kazbek. Unlike Fault, it had been born a monster and was eager to help her manage her new ungainly anatomy and split mind. Under Kazbek's care Fault realized that while her situation wasn't ideal, at least both her minds were somewhat aligned, which didn't seem to be the case when it came to her new mentor.

Fault has a number of issues with her new reality, and has taken to fixing the smaller imperfections using her elemental magic, creating striking gold marks along her dark body. She's grown fond of this look, and now heals any wound in this way, wounds which she mostly gets as she learns to scavenge and fight off Beastclans with her new form. She's slowly coming to terms with it, although she has no intention of returning to her native clan, still haunted by guilt.

She has since taken up mending broken objects around the lair, using gold lacquer or thread depending on the job. Fault has also taken to teaching Kazbek about common dragon customs, as the Ancient has a rather hard time adapting to life outside of the Wyrmwound. Having grown up with Kazbek, she is also the best suited dragon to act as a mediator between Aberrations and other dragons. Somehow Fault is always privy to their moods and anticipates their often flighty behaviors with ease, providing great relief to her other clanmates.

Design notes:

• Fault takes incredible pride in her appearance, her manes are often styled and/or sleek
• I picture her heads as having a bit more Imperial/Skydancer traits to them (not full-on Imp/SD heads, but like... some vibes, to reflect her parentage :D)
• she would have something that looks more like golden scars (scratches/tears and whatnot) than the fault(aha)-line-esque look veined usually has :>

Fault concept by yours truly (she’s a regal lady, vaguely lion-like)
