"Sister."
Two voices spoke, one immediately after the other, in the darkness of the cavern. Talons clicked rhythmically against the cold stone below, a successive tap, tap, tap, before a pause, before it was repeated.
"We have... an intruder," the first voice spoke again.
"An intruder," the second voice echoed, and something swept across the stone, purple eyes—three of them, one disconnected from the pair—staring out through the dark.
"Yes. An intruder. In our lair."
"In OUR lair." There was a shuffle from the darkness, the pair of eyes narrowing.
Silence was drawn out in the cavern, before the second voice quietly spoke up again.
"... This is awkward practicing when we don't have... someone to practice on."
"Idnerth!" the first voice gasped, the lone eye rolling, "We can't practice being scary on someone. What if they run and tell?"
"I suppose, but-"
"We've have to be genuinely terrifying for the others to respect us, Idnerth."
"I know, Idnerth, but-"
"No 'buts'. Let's try again."
