What happened here? Bad decisions. And we all know bad decisions ... mistakes ... they lead to greatness. You heard me! Greatness. It might not have been the best idea to release a captured bird indoors, especially not in a kitchen full of magical potions and breakable flasks full of experimental rews but in the end it did turn out better than expected.

The poor crow flew right into the cauldron after escaping its makeshift birdcage. It had been found in the woods with a broken wing and brought in to get it fixed. And now that the deed was done, they were ready to release it. But ... not like that.

They all looked at the cauldron bubbling and smoking with fearful eyes, scared of what could emerge. And what did emerge was ... different. Not a bird, not a crow by far. But it had feathers. A few at least. Feathers and big eyes staring at them with the curiosity of a hatchling ready to explore the world. And that is what sat before them. Some sort of hatchling, feathers, fur, horns.
As it crawled out of the cauldron, small plumes were left in the gooey luquid and as a small trail wherever it went. Soft black plumes that immediately grew back whenever they fell out and softly floated in the air.

The small creature enjoys the fresh air and watching the birds gather, chirping. And sometimes when it assumes noone is looking, it joins in with its crow-like noises.
