Biography

she is a selkie, a creature of the water able to wander the land, carrying her skin on her back, out of the sea; that is, if dragons still have such legends. the tangles of kelp still holding the remains of the dead are playgrounds and instruments all at once.

she can sink underwater for any length of time, despite the lack of requisite gills, and her voice is oddly alluring, garbled with silver and rising up to the surface as bubbles of happy speech

(sometimes, glimpsed through the underwater forests, you would be forgiven if you thought she had pulled on her skin and become a fish, a seal, a sea-beast, with skinflap wings and membraned tails)
