Biography

Anatoly

Male - He/him - Gembond cursed

Anatoly is cursed. Really, he thinks, he's probably done something to deserve it, even if he's not sure he remembers what for.

He's cursed. Jagged, skeletal growths of pure gold grow from his scales, glittering sweetly in the light like they had the gall to call themselves a blessing.

Dante's the only reason he's alive, the only one who gives him purpose - Even if the tools he uses to chisel away at him sting, it's only temporary, compared to what'll happen to him if it spreads further.

Anatoly's just grateful to be alive - From what he knows, most dragons with his condition don't last more than a few years before mineral overtakes their bodies. He's lucky Dante's there to keep the disease from spreading - He takes what's terrible from Anatoly, and makes it beautiful, intricate works of art other dragons flock to Wayward to adorn themselves with.

The only downside is that he has to stay hidden. Even when his wings itch with the sensation to be free, to travel, to feel the wind rushing under him as he takes flight, he can't. If other dragons knew what he was, they wouldn't be as careful as Dante is, he thinks. They'd cut him into pieces, take what he's been cursed with and make it their own until he's nothing.

At least, for now, his closest friend is the only one who knows, and the only one who can help him. He's content with that, he thinks.

He has to be.
