They had been raised together; best friends through childhood and the end of the world. Where one of them went, the other was quick to follow. The pair had been well known for their kindness, for their compassion and will to help anyone without expecting back.

It was heartbreaking to see them like this; fused together after one had been infected and the other had refused to leave. Some would say it was fitting, that like this they truly would be together forever and perhaps that was exactly what they had always wanted.

The fusion of infected was one of the first well documented changes; it caused the limited brain functions of two hosts work as one and thus created a more intelligent hunter.

They were different though. Instead of hunting survivors, this pair could often be seen wandering through fields of flowers or blankly staring at wildlife; it was as if the mind had tricked the pair into believing they were back high school, going on dates and enjoying each others company. It was decided by everyone involved to leave them alone; there was no reason to make them aggressive for now.
