Biography

Born in ice, she always felt a pull toward the water
Spent most of her time by the shore, everyone found her weird, left her alone
One day she fell(? Jumped? Was pushed?) into the water, and no one cared to look for her, figuring it was inevitable
She survived, and made her way to the Sea of One Thousand Currents
There she discovered that the pull toward the water had actually been the gift of prophecy, latent and undeveloped. In the Sea, she finally could harness her power
For a time she was content to learn all she could about her powers from the Tidelord's prophets
And then one day a voice spoke to her from the depths. It told her that she was special and powerful and that it was the reason she had been called to the Sea
The voice claimed that it was the true God of the water, and that the Tidelord was a false God that had trapped and replaced it. It claimed that Scylla's power would help it regain its true place as the God of waters, and that if she helped it, it would reward her by making her one of its high priestesses when it regained power.
Scylla was dubious of the voice's claims, but she had always wondered why she had these strange powers that left her feeling out of place no matter where she went. So, out of a desire for answers, not out of any belief or faith, Scylla agreed to help the voice
Soon she discovered there was a whole cult devoted to the voice living as acolytes of the Tidelord right under the Water Flight's nose. She was introduced to the current head of the hidden order, Raithis, who helped indoctrinate Scylla into the fold
For a time, things settled again. But as Scylla grew more confident in her role as a hidden priestess to the Deep Sea God, until slowly but surely she noticed something. Her visions were more accurate, her powers more potent than the other hidden cult members. The Deep Sea God seemed to be singling her out and showing her favour over the others
Unfortunately she wasn't the only one who noticed. Raithis, seeing this newcomer develop faster and stronger than her who had been leading the cult for years, grew insanely jealous.
One night Raithis decided that Scylla needed to go, and she approached Scylla's rooms with the intention to strangle her in her sleep
However, Scylla's visions proved themselves again, as she had already foreseen that Raithis would come for her. Earlier that night Scylla had gathered what little belongings and provisions she could, and escaped into the darkness
She wandered, trying to find safety, beginning to realize that she no longer wanted any part of the Deep Sea God and its powers
She thought she had escaped it for a time in the Ashfall Wastes, figuring that a water God would have no place there. Instead, she was bombarded with horrifying visions until she was forced to travel again to make them stop
She grudgingly attempted to return to the cult, hoping that Raithis had either been removed after her attack or had calmed down, but her hopes were dashed when the cult members almost immediately attacked her when they saw her
She was sure she was done for, when suddenly an Aberration joined the fray, driving the others back, scooping Scylla up and carrying her to safety
He introduced himself as Triton, and said that the Deep Sea God had sent him to protect her
Resigned and despairing, Scylla accepted his companionship and the fact that the water God would never leave her alone.
The pair traveled, seeking shelter for a time, until they stumbled upon Cherry's clan, and finally found a home
However, while things are better for Scylla now, they aren't perfect. The other fortune-tellers and seers of the clan all seem to recognize that she's been influenced by the Deep Sea God. Some, like Bubbaloo and Salazien, seem to be neutral to her presence. But Foresight treats her coldly, and Shibuya is downright hostile, hating her for being the priestess of a rival God. No one has been actively malicious towards her, thanks to Cherry's rules, but Scylla avoids the other seers as much as possible
Scylla feels like this point in her life is the calm before the storm. The Deep Sea God has made it clear that its not done with her yet, and that she has no say in the matter. She doesn't know what the god wants yet, but shes beginning to grow very anxious about what its demands will be
