Cloths maker and tailor

When he Hatched his parents were frightened and upset about his dull colors. They were very traditional, but kept him for a while longer due to their status. They sent him out not only 3 weeks after their entire family saw him. Cast out as a mere hatchling he roamed about stumbling trying to find a home. Later he found the most gorgeous tree he's seen it's ash colored wood almost making him blend into it's roots. It sheltered him, gazing up in wonder the tree, it's Grey gradient leaves shakes and these magenta firefly float down upon him their little body's leaving white bright like stars in his feathered wings. Amazed he opens them and a constellation is shining on the feathers. Giddy he gently rubs his face on the soft bark and lays under the thickest root, the glowing bugs diming and resting on him. Over time the bugs and tree teaches him how to forage, later finding a near by lair to trade sea food to him. The left overs are picked clean by the firefly and then the tree gets any bones and whole bits.
But one day he awoke to chiding chirping and angry roars. The lair near him was at war with Harpy's. He looked up and saw the forest set ablaze with both harpy and dragon flames. His tree was on fire not knowing what to do he frantically looks around and jumps up being careful to not hurt the bark. It's too late his beloved tree will be hit in mere moments. Most of the fire flies that thrived are gone due to the heat. The few left cluster into his feathers a small amount that used to be thousands. A hard sound sounds to his left a ashy wooden branch with a peculiar lump in the middle of the broken off part. Leaves though small still clung too the branch.
Knowing what will happen he delicately takes the branch in his jaws and lookes up to the burning tree one last time, the feel of buzzing in his chest feathers urges him forward. As he ran he hears a wounded tweet only to find the biggest rage puff he's ever seen, it's injured, bleeding. After a tussle and quickness he manages to put the puff on his back and books it. After the years and tending to the rage puff and branch. He gains the trust of the rage puff, and in turn the puff protects him from dragons trying to steal what he had left. The branch holding on to life like it knows he is trying. After a bit more he finnaly meets thorin who speaks of the place he lives. It's in the shade and cool. He lives at this lair in the beginning planting the tree in the center of their ravine. The couple and their hatchlings help carve a spot. It flourishes. In return for the safety they have brought he offers to make clothing and cloth. And well the rest Is history.
