Sunfire chose the name Astraeus for her first-hatched son because when he came out of his egg, he couldn't stop staring at the stars. He continued to look at them every night, even sneaking out of his nest when he should be sleeping.
He likes to spend his days in the lower caves, next to the crystal pools while watching the strange-colored fireflies zip around. At night, he goes to the surface and studies the stars. He keeps a journal of what he sees and will occasionally name new constellations. His favorite constellation is one he calls "Ender", based on the legend of an arcane dragon who fiercely protects her egg from those who would harm it.
His mate, Berry, will sometimes join him at night so she can hunt her favorite nocturnal insects. When she's done, she settles next to Astraeus while he tells her about the stars. She usually ends up falling asleep, so he'll put his cape around to keep her warm while he finishes writing down the night's observations.

When doing nighttime research, Astraeus will sometimes overhear his fellow clan members wishing on the stars. He writes down the wishes he hears in hopes that they will get fulfilled. The list is ever-changing as wishes are granted and as more wishes come.
