Biography
arcane historian
a lover of all things mysterious and strange, halcyon studies the history of magic itself. this strange energy that flows in our veins, that permeates our entire world, yet we do not yet really understand it. halcyon looks to the past to find this understanding. bizarre ancient relics, crumbling spellbooks with stained pages, scratches on cave walls that hurt one's mind to look at, something, something must hold the key.
hal has earned something of a reputation- he understands the technical side of magic far more than any of his contemporaries, though he insists he's decades from any true understanding. he often gets letters and visits from curious students and scholars with some strange artifact or insanely specific question. he's used to these, and quite happy to help! why study, if not to spread your knowledge?
what he is not used to, however, is tall, two-headed creatures, arguing with their body-mate, appearing on his doorstep. this has only happened to him twice. the first instance was... confusing, and somewhat disturbing, but the second would give way to something beautiful.
hal is currently playing host to lark and spur, a pair of scholars accidentally fused together. he finds them fascinating, and clever, and funny, and sweet.... ah, that is, they are a very interesting case! quite interesting indeed! they help him, working together to find a way to separate them, bringing him meals when he forgets to eat, reminding him to take care of himself. lingering when their hands touch his... hm.
