Biography
Sanguineish enjoys hanging out with dragons from other flights, or dragons from the clan that have travelled far and wide to see the world. He often meditates under the sun, sheltered by a thin cloth roof, and writes poetry with his mate or his familiar by his side. One of his favourite foods is the 'cured' fish made by the clan, though many other dragons would simply call it 'rotting'.
Sanguineish is a withdrawn dragon who is easily irritated. He often smells of tinctures, herbs, and salves that he uses to soothe some of his bare flesh. Sometimes, Toxicity will scrape him with his venomous spines to numb him, and help him to better commune with the Plaguebringer through the delirium.
Sanguineish is a sensitive dragon. (In a literal way, and most certainly not by choice!) When he was a young fledgeling he flew over the Plague ridden lands that belonged to the Plaguebringer, curious to see how many of the scary stories were true.
He flew and flew, but then, as many dragons do, he lost sight of where had come from. He could see only the abiding boneyard, and the scarred, hostile-looking dragons that prowled between the carcasses. He did not dare to land, and continued to fly in what he hoped was the right direction, until he didn't have any more energy left to fly with.
Sanguineish fell from the sky in exhaustion, and landed in the Plaguebringer's cauldron. His skin bubbled and burned, and the Plaguebringers children only watched as he dragged his way out. He was afraid of what they would do, if he made it out, but the burning of the Cauldron was worse than his fear - and he climbed out.
He was received with great respect and cheer by the dragons that had watched his struggle for survival. They were impressed by his fortitude and willpower, and offered him a place in their clan. Sanguineish, too weak and lost to return home, and too scared to deny his flight's natural enemies, agreed.
Sanguineish is often cold and feverish, and has frequent bouts of sickness that appear to be unique to him. Some dragons consider him to be one of the Plaguebringer's exalted - serving her by incubating her diseases - and he has taken on the role of a Religious Guide.
He has found a kindred mate in Denude, who, similarly to Sanguineish, lost a significant portion of her skin to a corrosive attack in the Coliseum. The colours and patterns on their offspring seems to reflect the loss of their skin, and Sanguineish has come to believe that his fall was fated.
He has come to appreciate his clan, and has found an understanding for their way of life, though he sometimes wonders what his life would have been like if he had been able to return to his clan by the Moonportal. He wonders if his family remembers him, and if they would be upset to find that he has turned to side with a Flight that they had once sworn to destroy. He wonders if their magic could have healed him.
