Biography
Easily the most reclusive of the three Lake sisters, Kaindy has a good reason for seeking quiet and solitude-- she's still recovering from a close brush with mortality after getting caught in a landslide on a field expedition, and the imposition of other dragons on her processing has felt overwhelming, especially when some seem to expect her to be exactly the same dragon she was prior to the incident. She is healing and beginning to open up a bit more, however, as her seclusion has given her time to find her proverbial footing and readjust to the changed physical and mental landscape. For those who've respected her boundaries, Kaindy displays a remarkable resilience and depth, a dragon who's faced down death and is slowly emerging from the encounter with a new appreciation for life, endurance, and adaptation. She's a little odd in some ways, and can be somewhat inscrutable at times, but there's no doubt that she's recolonizing the framework of her life Before with deliberation and slow but unmistakable vigor.
(Lake Kaindy is an isolated, small lake in southeastern Kazakhstan. Cold and lovely, it was formed in 1911 when an earthquake and subsequent rockslide formed a natural dam in a mountain valley, and the valley filled with rainwater and runoff from the Kaindy river. The remains of spruce trees still stand tall and emerge from the water like pillars; preserved by the water's deep chill, they form the scaffolding for a burgeoning forest of algae and aquatic plants below the surface.)
