Woodroffe was the first founder of Pyrophyte, in the days where the clan went by a different name and called the Viridian Labyrinth home. He lead his companions to build a grand home amongst the trees, but Woodroffe had one great failing as a leader: he avoided conflict at any cost. The den lacked defense, and after a series of raids from a hostile Beastclan to the north, the clan was forced to relocate. For some time, he led them as nomads, until finally the clan came to a rest in the Ashfall Waste, where they could hope for the harsh environment around them to protect them. Woodroffe was driven from his position of leadership, many of his once-friends accusing him of having clanmates blood on his hands, and the clan remained in a state of leaderless purgatory until Mara and Snowbone wandered in from the wastes.
