-Born in the Astrolodome, Elys comes from a relatively normal up-bringing with a standard background for someone of the Astrolodome lower middle class. He had loving parents, a healthy relationship with his siblings, went to a good school and got good grades. There is little clear explanation for what happened to make him go from a relatively normal timid child to.... the rather socially inept creep he is now. All people know is that one day, he began to take a very intense interest in biology as he started needing to narrow down his fields of study- and that narrowed down further as he went further into education studying biochemistry and genetics. But his keen interest in the field and intellect seemed at first wasted.... society already had a thorough enough knowledge of biology and genetics that they were able to change their very genes with magic, and so it was almost as if there was nothing left to discover. Nothing legally. The age of information assured that. It was only until his studies took him passing by the Starwood Strand that he finally stood corrected on his assumption of a dead end, as news reached him of the SAR facility and it's dubious research. Though it took a bit of work to actually apply with how secret their research is, Elys' skills were quickly made apparent and they were eager to have him on board. And that, now, is where he works. Figuring out the secrets that lie beneath the surface of every anomaly that comes through their facility.
-Elys is not quite as caught up on social norms and manners as most. Or, perhaps, it is but doesn't particularly care about following them no matter how others might get upset with it for being that way. It frequently gets uncomfortably close to people with no regard for personal space, speaks openly and bluntly about deeply personal matters that aren't it's to discuss as well as pries about things it doesn't particularly have a right to- generally it has no problem invading other people's space and boundaries for whatever end it's trying to meet, and has no problem being quite rude to your face about it. No amount of telling off really fixes anything. And its work is considered vital enough that only a complaint from someone of significant position could really punish it. So.... the best thing to do is mind your business, and Elys will hopefully be so caught up in it's work that it will mind it's own business too.
-Not Partnered, but he believes that might not stay true for very long if he's reading Valkinto's advances correctly.... He is thoroughly enchanted by that man, and the games they play. He's going to ask him out any day now, he only needs to find his moment.
