CanaryGlass is a drake with an incredible innate magical prowess, leading him to beg his father to let him practice magic from a very young age, seeing his father and other casters at work creating new spells and using them to achieve great things being his drive and inspiration. His father only began tutoring him once he thought that Canary would use these gifts to better the kingdom rather than for selfish purposes. Once he taught Canary all he could, he directed his son towards GossamerDew for further teachings and told him to follow her teaching to the letter. While learning under her guidance, Nova took notice of the great curiosity and daring that Canary had within himself and pulled him aside one day in secret. She promised him that there was entire worlds of power and new knowledge available to him if he loosened up and explored the other magic types, offering that she teach him something called “Umbrabound casting”, a magic type his father never mentioned to him in order to keep it from tempting Canary. With a burning curiosity in his heart and a racing mind full of the thoughts of potential magical power, he agreed to go with her to learn more. From that point forward, he spent his every day going from teacher to teacher, learning every bit of magical knowledge he could find. Where beforehand, he only went out about twice a week to learn Aetherbound, he spent his whole week now going back and forth between Multiple teachers. Dedicating himself to all kinds of casting, he sought to expand their reach by mixing and matching spells from the different casting kinds, eventually developing a new category of magic: Crystalbound casting.
Crystalbound casting combines the physical attributes of Gaiabound casting with the metaphysical and ethereal nature of Umbrabound and Aetherbound casting to create extraordinarily powerful magical artifacts. The belief system of Crystalbound casting being versatility over devotion, and aims to spread the idea that all casting is equally powerful and should all be used simultaneously in balance and harmony to achieve one’s full power and potential. Each spell is encased within a brittle crystal that, upon being broken open in any way immediately casts the spell trapped inside like some sort of magical grenade. Most crystals only hold one type of casting magic inside, but more powerful and volatile ones contain magic from two or even three kinds at a time. To more kinds inside a single crystal however, the more dangerous it becomes.
