Birthplace:

Born in the bustling Lanternlea Port, Rinoa grew up without a care in the world...but also without knowledge of her purpose in life as a Gaoler. Scattered so far from their culture, some Gaolers had forgotten their call to fight the Shade, and went through the motions of normal dragon life. Rinoa was much the same, until she heard of dragons suffering across Sornieth. In particular, hearing of the struggles of the lower class Fire dragons being oppressed by the Forgemasters, she wished to aid them in some way and travelled south. While she did make some select friends amongst the strikers, she was still reviled for being a Gaoler, the species who eliminated the Banescales, pride of the Flamecaller. Furthermore, she proved to be a fearsome mage, a blessing to her friends, but a bane to those who had already dreaded her.
Rinoa's woes were still only beginning as she began to sense Shade stirring once more in the land of her birth. While she still keeps tabs on her friends in the Ashfall Waste, she was strong on the scent of whatever darkness was swirling within the Sunbeam Ruins. While on the hunt, she happened to cross paths with the Rose's Thorns. She hoped to use her leftover wealth to hire what she thought were mercenaries to help her take down whatever threat she sensed, but was surprised when she was turned down flat. Surprised, but intrigued. Realizing just how much she disconnected from her species and their cause, she decided to join them instead of having them join her. From there, she learned all there was to know about the Gaolers, their purpose as given by the Icewarden, and why her urge to hunt and defeat the Shade was so strong.
Her power allowed her to rise quickly through the ranks (in spite of her tendency to disregard orders to do what she believed was right, which sometimes got her into a few instances where she needed backup), even to the point that other Gaolers respected her almost like a figure of authority. While she certainly felt a great deal of pressure, Rinoa was promoted to becoming the Seeker Warden, and second in command of the Rose's Thorns. However, after an encounter with a very sagely member of the Morning Roses' council, it was revealed that Rinoa was no ordinary dragon by any means. She was blessed by the Lightweaver herself with a power that rivaled that of a Primal dragon. In the wrong claws, this power could destroy the world, but in the right claws, it was foretold that this power could save the world. With that in mind, Rinoa realized that she would have to use this power to defend Dragonkind from the Shade...or else be consumed by it.

Rinoa is a kindhearted dragon, but has a massive sense of humor, something that other Gaolers don't fully get about her, though they respect her power nevertheless. To others, her plucky nature, friendliness, constant asking for hugs, and her tendency to exaggerate in a childish manner for comedic effect are highly endearing and make her a joy to be around. However, her spunkiness and jokes are often a mask for the fact she deeply hates herself. She had forgotten her heritage, after all, how can she call herself worthy of being a Gaoler? Let alone a Warden? She had grown up rich and sheltered, and felt worthless and unable to help anyone. Now that she realized she had such a dangerous power dwelling within her, how could she know for sure that it wouldn't consume her? That she could be trusted? That she has any right to live? These anxieties plague her brain on a regular basis, but nevertheless she does the best she can to not let Sornieth down, to be its guardian. In the meantime, Edea trains her to fight the shadowy presence known as the Dread Sorceress...mortal enemy of the Saint Sorceress...the two fated to meet in mortal combat to decide the fate of the future...

Rinoa also has a great love of music, her mother being a musician, and can be a little vocally critical if someone butchers the sanctity of the art of song. She also has a great love for stars. She doesn't know a thing about actual astronomy, but she darn sure thinks the night sky is beautiful and decorates her lair with glowing star stickers obtained from merchants from the Shifting Expanse (much to the chagrin of her fellow Gaolers who think it's absolutely sad that their Warden actually decorates her lair with vanities). She also loves any and all things cute, especially canines. Her Kitsune familiar Angelo is not only a testament to her love of canines, but her wealth. Having seen this lovely Kitsune at the Familiars corner of the Marketplace, she was immediately smitten by the luscious golden fur and several fluffy tails, and hired her on impulse. Seeing how Golden Kitsune are known for only showing interest in a dragon if they surrender a fortune and a half, this was an incredibly unwise impulse buy, but what's past is past. This intelligent fox is her trusted battle companion, and assists her in the flashiest combat displays imaginable.
