Working so closely with the Bogsneaks' ambassador, Mona, it falls on Zangar to keep an eye on the conditions of the mire's flora and report this to her glade-dwelling friend. She has an extensive knowledge of fungi in particular.

Key to Zangar's attributes is her awful smell. Every pore of her body exudes a tangible, green cloud of gas. This is known to attract many insects, and is a large contributor to the species richness of the swamp in its earliest stages.

Due to her intolerable malodour, in order to fulfil her duties as an ambassador, Zangar is required to wear a specially-designed set of gear that seals the worst of the stench within, where only she has to smell it. Even though a tangible stench will clog the nostrils of anyone within a fifteen metre radius even with this gear on, it is the best solution they've found so far, and something that has to be tolerated.

Despite her horrific smell, Zanger is actually a rather well-spoken dragon with a cheerful personality. She is perfectly fine with the rather isolated life it leads to, finding herself comfortable in the company of the other notably more antagonistic Bogsneaks.

Aside from her broader importance in her mastery of fungi, she also finds herself very interested in detritivores and decomposers. She spends a lot of time when checking for fungi rolling over rotten logs to see what creepy crawlies she can find.
