almus loves the world. he loves people, he loves places, he loves things. he knows nothing else, but to write about it—and write about it he does. he would write about anything and everything if he could cram it all in to a single lifetime.

but not everyone wants to read about everything. almus has run into this problem wherever he's gone. no one wants a poet-in-residency if all they've written about is the grass and the crumbs on the dining room floor. eventually, no one would listen to his words, and he'd find another place to stay.

but almus met asaph, a dragon who collects everything, from salt shakers to odd-looking sticks. almus began reading to him, and asaph found his love for things verbalized. in turn, asaph showed almus his collections, and almus wrote about them.

and unlike every other clan, almus never left.
