murmur crash-landed on the coast in a schooner one day. it was in the worst condition anyone had ever seen; no one knew how it was sailing before it hit the rocks lining the beach. this was a point of concern for much of the clan. murmur quickly became a subject of their pity, immediately welcomed in without suspicion.
murmur, still a pirate, played along until he took complete control over the clan's treasury. however, he usually left the scheming part of his thievery up to his now-deceased crewmates. he completely neglected to plan an escape. not knowing where to run, he settled for running the treasury instead of taking all the riches for himself. the clan was disappointingly poor anyhow, and he had come to like them.
