Almandine

Almandine likes old stuff.

Almandine really, really likes old stuff. Especially bones, and fossils, and stuff people made like a Zillion Years Ago.

In fact, that's how Dr Sbaitso found her at the Auction House-- she'd wandered off from where she'd been expected to stay and begun interrogating the Fae medic when she spotted real bones in his reference tome.

Her parents and their clan leader gave their blessing, and now Almandine either hovers and listens as Dr Sbaitso goes about his duties as a doctor, or winds up covered in dirt, mud, dust, and whatever else things are buried in as she 'helps' Birch, Burl, and the clan dig for materials and salvage useful items. She watches Dr Sbaitso, Birch, Tuberosa, and Dendrobium use journals and books to record or research for their individual projects, and while she's still mastering reading and writing, she's begun to piece together sheaves of scrap parchment and do her own artistic renderings of her favourite found fossils, bones, and artifacts.

It goes without saying that Almandine is absolutely gaga over Arlo and his archaeological work. No one in the clan is really sure if the crush is romantic or intellectual in nature, but it's indisputably a real whopper of a crush. Gods help Arlo if she actually gets to meet him in person someday.
