Fracture

The lone serthis slips into a fissure of basalt. Injured, she knows she can't win against any but the smallest dragons. Hopefully, this chasm is too small for the one currently hunting her. She slithers along quietly, dagger in hand, alert for any sound.

She passes by a break in the chasm wall, and a glitter of gold catches her attention. A shape launches from the crack lightning fast, and she has time only to wonder how it could have gotten ahead of her so fast.

The dagger is useless.

Fracture wanders alone though the searing landscape of the Ashfall Waste. His pack was wiped out in a fight against a hydra, and he hasn't had the heart to search for a new one. However, he sometimes lingers in the Flintlock Fumaroles around the tiny lair owned by Ignigen and Endowrath, who he has taken a liking to despite their attempts to shoo him away. Endowrath in particular reminds him of the sister he lost, and he's always elated when she allows him to accompany her on hunts, sometimes scavenging a meal from the meat she has little interest in.

Over time he has become a more permanent part of the lair, though its original residents still see him more like a pet than a true member of the clan.
