"What?" Foampatch turned to stare at the dragon accompanying her on their search for the Leviathan, an elusive sea creature whose resurfacing every 100 years guaranteed the witnesses more gold than they could imagine. Foampatch however, was uninterested in the riches. She wanted to kill the beast.
Fishpelt shrank back from her gaze. "I get skysick." They replied in a rush, their words squeezed together.
Foampatch raised her eyes to the sky and heaved a sigh, the irritable nature of it barely concealed from her companion.
"Well I don't much have a ship, do I? How do you expect us to reach The Opening if we don't fly?"
Fishpelt lowered their gaze guiltily. "If I had a ship ready in a week would that be ok?"
"The Leviathan will emerge in three days!"
"Two days then?"
"Fine." She snapped. "Remember that I'm only taking you along because of your desire for riches. I have no qualms about leaving you to rot in with this stupid clan."
"That's fine." Fishpelt squeaked. "I'll try to be ready."
"We'll see about that."
