This dragon was born to serve the arcane clan... but Cadenza's parents Kira and Kurse feared her future as one of the arcane's protectors. So Kira went to the all knowing Scrying Workshop for answers but they saw nothing but darkness in her future.

" What can I do to reverse the prophecy " said Kira with a worried look on his face, the words you cant reverse this curse swirled around menacingly in the cauldron. In dispare tears trikkled down Kira's face. Kira sobbed, " What are we going to do ? " Fleaing home Kira told Kurse what they had found out. That night Kira and Kurse herd scittering followed by Cadenza's cry, Kira leaped up and ran towards the intruder but they had vanished and their baby girl was gone . . .

The next morning, woken up in a world where mushrooms glowed and it was always dark, it seemed as if time stood still. Hesitantly taking a step forward I quickly withdraw my claw hissing in pain, opening my paw I saw a thorn " Just my luck " Cadenza sighed.

Suddenly I hear a 'snap' my head wips up, and up and up until I see it. I gasp at the sight of bright blue soulless eyes shrouded in darkness. I took a step back in fear, its skeletal hand reaches out for you and says "What's something like you doing here?" the spirit groaned, turning toward me is when I noticed that it was cowering behind it's skeletal hand.

In a hushed tone "Something like me? " said Cadenza. " Wa- what is something like you doing here ".

Pausing the glowing eyes stare at me, I notice its claws lowering. The creature says " You're scared of me?"

Quakily I nod my head, "What are you scared of?"

The spirit's head turned toward me in indignation " What am I afraid of." The creature scoffed " Of course the Shadowbinder. "

Cadenza asks "Whats the Shadowbinder?"

"the Sadowbinder is a dragon made of darkness itself. It practically oozes a shadows that consumes everything it touches." said the spirit in a hushed tone
" You don't know who she is ? " The spirit said with a laugh,

" No but it's going to be in my nightmares now ." Cadenza said.

" Just be careful. " the spirit said. Then the spirit looks at me hesitantly and envelopes into the darkness. The spirit had left me just like my parents. I was alone in this dark scary world. looking I was able to find other dragons, and many of them had a similar reaction to the creatures. Hearing all of these creatures accounts about the Shadowbinder made me want to leave this place even more. I missed my family, I missed my home. I would cry myself to sleep thinking about them.

Then one night I had a nightmare, It was completely dark I had nowhere to go, I was stuck in place. When suddenly in the darkness I see moment. A creature staggering, I'm cowering in fear, as the creature creeps closer I see a dark shadowy dragon, who appears to drool and drip the shadows themselves. Her large, black wings, with translucent membranes, seem to be capable of functioning similarly to legs. Her spine, neck, and face are decorated with pointed fins and frills, while her eyes glow a pale purple.

"There is no need to be afraid, I will protect you." They rumbled.

"Who-who are you." Cadenza quiveres

"You have probably heard of me, I'm the Shadowbinder. Do you seek help?"

"I'm lost and I can't find my parents." I say cheerlessly

To my surprise the mighty Shadowbinder said " Well, well we have a rebel how would you like to join the Shadow flight as a protector? " the idea seemed to send a thrill of excitement down my spine. " Y- yes of course " I said.

3 years later ....

I am still a protector of the Shadow land and my flight. I was given a statue of an Agate Shadowbinder as a token of the Shadowbinders appreciation. I never saw the elusive Shadowbinder ever again. Nerveless the Shadowbinder opened my eyes and said, " I know somehow, that only when it's dark enough, can you see the stars. " And now I truly know the meaning of the darkness
