Past


For most of her life, this toad was a toad just like any other. She did normal toad things- hop around, eat bugs, worry about nothing and nobody. One night she was caught by a pack of massive lizards who wanted to make a snack out of her. They brought her to their home and, as they were about to eat her, another smaller lizard came by and stopped them. The smaller lizard soon became her friend. He would keep her in his lair while he worked. They would eat bugs together and he would talk to her (despite her not knowing what he was saying). What she did know, however, was that her friend was really good at magic, better than any other lizard she had met. He would turn flowers into bugs for them to snack on, or make shiny rocks sparkle, or create bright pink smoke out of nowhere. Even his eyes were magical!
On one occasion, the toad's friend got a little distracted and one of his magic spells accidentally hit her. She felt fine at the time, but when she woke up the next morning, her eyes were pink and she was a big lizard! Her friend introduced himself as Viper, and she realized she could finally understand what he was saying. She had a lot of questions about big lizards (apparently called dragons!) and magic and everything around her and Viper very patiently answered all of them. She didn't have a name so they came up with 'Bufo' together. From that moment on, the two were completely inseparable. They later moved to a nice place with lots of water because Viper had some magical business there. Even though Bufo doesn't do as many toad things anymore (not even eating bugs with her friend), she's having a good time.
