Biography
Ramiel
favorite food(s):
As the keeper of the lighthouse, Ramiel's job crucially depends on his attentiveness. He is to keep logs of incoming and outgoing ships, pay attention to the weather, and of course, keeping a good light for sailors in the dark. Sōlis is by no means a bustling town; ships are infrequent enough for him to have a break every now and then. Regardless, he is dedicated to his role and every night, keeps the beacon lit for any happenstance seafarers in need of a port.
Like many others, Ramiel arrived at the clan as a former vagrant, traveling from place to place. He was never one for it, however, desperately hoping to find a place to hole himself away from the rest of the world. Pipistrelle welcomed him into her home, where he shares a space with several other Veilspun. Atypical for his race, He doesn't actually enjoy the closeness and slumber piles the rest do, but was thankful for a steady den to stay in.
After the lighthouse was constructed, he took it upon himself to be its keeper. Its practically his dream job; being away from others, watching the serene sea, taking note of details... He feels there's truly no downsides. It's become his home away from home, as he's modified it to accommodate the long hours he'll be spending there with a small stock of food, shelves of books, and even a bed. Clanmates, especially the other Veilspun, often drop by to check in on him. He welcomes them in to stay for a drink, but will excuse himself to continue his sentry duties.
Ramiel is very reclusive, hardly being seen anywhere other than the lighthouse or rarely, the Veilspun den. While affable enough, he cannot keep a conversation going beyond simple pleasantries. He will usually look for a way out of socializing, muttering excuses about tending to the lighthouse or some other responsibility. Although, as long as he's not expected to reply, Ramiel is an excellent listener. When he can be dragged out, he'll spend his time dragon-watching, peacefully observing his clanmates.
Once in a blue moon, Ramiel will head to the port to converse with the seafarers. He'll ask them of the weather conditions that may be incoming, and occasionally inquire if there were any problems with the beacon's visibility. When he receives the information needed, he'll mutter his goodbyes and flutter back to the lighthouse. Seldom will he stay beyond that, unless a merchant's stock happens to catch his eye. Ramiel can't seem to resist the allure of strange trinkets, decorating the lighthouse with his purchases. Those odds and ends are the one thing that get him talking the most, as he'll prattle on about when he got them and from which merchant sold it to him. Many of the objects have little value outside of sentimentality, but he appreciates them all the same.
