Kingpin wielded undeniable, unspeakable power in his hands. Power that many would kill to have. Power that many have died for. It was a tough life, standing on top of so many who would not hesitate if he faltered in his weakness-

“This isn’t a kingdom,” Scorpio pointed out dryly. “Or a mafia.”

Kingpin glared at him. “Are you the Moderpoly banker or am I the Moderpoly banker?”

“Can we-”

“-start now?” Durant and Veiled whined. Their way of speech used to creep Kingpin out, but he’d learned to get used to it. Mostly.

Kingpin glanced around at the rest of the restless players.

“Hmph,” he huffed, as the rest of them took that as a call to start, and started playing with their pieces. He could do his job well; with power came responsibility, and Kingpin was definitely responsible enough to watch out for this group of sneaky little dragon-snakes and their rubbery hands.
