 Ren Amamiya/Akira Kurusu/Akiren.

A transfer student that transferred to Shujin Academy because of an incident that put a criminal record on him. Now considered a "troublemaker," he has to adapt to his new life in Tokyo while trying to manage a group called the Phantom Thieves; a group of students who enter a place called the "Metaverse" via the MetaNavigator to change the hearts of evil people who disrupt the peace of the world and of teenagers alike. They do this with their own justice, bringing them down as they do so.

Ren/Akira/Akiren has a kind yet dorky personality, being there for his friends despite being silent most of the time. He tends to go in without thinking of a plan first, and if the "plan" he has currently backfires he's quick to adapt; he is serious in serious situations and will do his best to sustain his leadership role.

He currently lives in a coffee shop called Leblanc that is owned by his current "parental" supervisor.

He has a persona called Arséne -- named after the famous fictional character Arséne Lupin by the writer Maurice Leblanc. Arséne was gained in the first palace ever that he and Ryuji Sakamoto encountered with a troublesome teacher.
Arséne is capable of curse attacks and attacks that are more physical than magic.
