Between the light of the surface tundra, and the darkness of underground caverns, the strange and sharp find themselves in a position of comfort among the cold... between a surface-dwelling surface recluse, and a refugee child of a failed revolution, two gaolers found themselves burrowing away from their homes to the hope of a new world. A new life, a new clan- a new people, who would be no more than just different from what they'd met and experienced. In this, they found each other; a creature of ice and a creature of darkness, similar despite all the odds. One digging up, the other digging down, and meeting in the middle of their hideaways. These gaolers stayed together, and had hatchings; including Skia, who from the beginning was aware of the battles and qualms between the two clans his parents came from. He watched from snowy burrows and hidden cracks at how the two bitter rivals fought for no reason other than to stay different. But why fight when creating a relationship between the cultures could be so beautiful? And really, this happened everywhere- the combat and fighting between clans that hated over nothing of worth. Weren't they all dragons? Couldn't they see the scales and fangs and claws were the same for everyone? How little this all mattered? Skia was determined to fix it all, as lofty of a goal that seemed. |

Skia was born into the generation of Gaolers who didn't join the guilds and who never really felt connected to their past history as prison guards of the shade-touched. He wasn't particularly interested in the warring and fighting of the clans his parents belonged to. The whole family had turned their back to the petty disputes, however their lives were still overshadowed by the fights and Skia grew sick of it. Leaving his family was hard, but his journey brought him north where, after a while, he stumbled upon new young Bridgecourt clan. |
