The parents were overjoyed to see this precious egg hatch, for the mother was barren, and they had to use magic to craft an egg for themselves.

Lily was a perfect hatchling, growing up. Mother was soft and kind, and Father was stern. Everything changed when she started growing excessive fur and those... quills, on her manes and back. Her teeth grew out to be long fangs, and her talons started to develop more and more like claws.

At adolescent, she was a little freak, half dragon, half Burrow Bear. This, of course, was simply devastating to the parents.

Her father started to yank the quills out, no matter if it bled, no matter if it hurt her. This, was his little girl, and she must be normal in every way possible. He trimmed her thick hair and cut her nails, and yanked those quills out again and again.

Meanwhile her mother would just look to the side. For Lily didn't know how much her mother cried at night for her child.

The young her ran away from home. If those blood and pain were the price to be normal, then she'd rather not.

A large imperial took her in, and she lived in the territory of Ice for a while. It didn't suit her. Neither a Nature dragon nor a Burrow Bear was meant to live in the coldness...

With the help of the imperial, who grew to be like a father figure, she started to look for a new home. Maybe, maybe there are dragons who would accept her as who she is -- half dragon and half creature.
