Anya's Story

Vannifor was stolen as a kit from another world, due to a spell that Selebri was practicing with the 'assistance' of Anya, a wandering Pearlcatcher who'd stopped by for a while.
Selebri was responsible for stealing Vannifor, because she knew Anya would soon leave, and needed another pearlcatcher to teach oracles' ways to. When Vannifor was formed and stolen as a kit, she looked very similar to Anya, which almost immediately scared the wanderer off.
Vannifor doesn't remember any other 'parent' figures, and sometimes wonders if she even has physical parents because of how she was formed. Neuer, the crafter of the world that Vannifor was born in, seems to know more about this...

Meta-knowledge: the world in which Vannifor was crafted was heavily aqua based, and Vannifor would have normally been formed by native residents creating water currents fused with their magic.  This technically means that Selebri and Anya were and are Vannifor's real parents, but the world considers her stolen as she was instantly removed and not taught the culture, neither of the pearlcatchers were natives and Anya didn't even know what was happening.

...however, Neuer shares this with Vannifor much later in her lore.

Selebri proceeded to take on Vannifor and teach her some basic scrying ways--to begin her oracle training. For a while, Vannifor was fine with this, and stuck close to Selebri. Timeskip after a bit of training, and the quirky, quiet Vannifor meets a bloodmancer fae named Kileth. The fae came along after she realized that some of Selebri's practices had morale 'gaps', and were causing harm to befall the entire traveling band--such as the attack on Cloud (formally known as Maelys). Together, the two of them worked 'undercover' to place charms and other protective manners to cover Selebri's gaps. The fae left shortly after they finished.
Selebri was not as oblivious to this as Vannifor thought, as the elder pearlcatcher immediately conferenced the younger about it after the fae left. Vannifor's initial fear was short-lived, though, as Selebri didn't mind and in fact congratulated the young oracle-in-training for making a positive impact on the band through her actions.
Vannifor's forté in protection charms and communication-based scrying outlived her interest in oracle work related to dieties and 'sourcing' of magic, however. Selebri only lashed out at Vannifor twice before abandoning her as a student and peer, and left her to continue in her own way; Vannifor no longer had a source of knowledge within the band. The water pearlcatcher's scars are from Selebri during this time; she was extremely self-conscious of them for a long time.

Vannifor still silently lurked along with the band, but she didn't have a true 'place' of her own anymore. Since then Selebri has caused a couple disruptions with the bands' dragons that only Vannifor has had the knowledge to truly understand, and among those dragons was Eveyinn, the only dragon Vannifor really bothered opening up to. Although he was still in the band as Vevyinn in everyone else's eyes, Vannifor recognized that he is no longer the same and was reluctant to speak to him anymore, though he tries. She somtimes spoke to some other dragons, but they either don't understand quite where she's coming from, think that she is not strong enough to tell the truth to, or is not politically wise to become involved in as Selebri is a main factor for the entire band. She was still slightly intimidated by Selebri after being abandoned from her teachings and was seeking out ways to progress on her own.

Neuer began occasionally bringing Vannifor home--to her origin world--to visit its waters, and has taken a protective stance for the pearlcatcher. She will probably eventually be the first dragon to see Neuer in-action crafting a world, if the skydancer ever allows it. Aloe has offered training services of the physical type; Vannifor is surprisingly talented in physical combat despite her origins.

Vannifor started leaving her pearl docked in her origin world at this point. It never really felt important to her as a part of her being--it was more like a journal that gradually became less and less up-to-date. It is still a powerful magickal artifact; however, like Selebri, Vannifor can use her flowerfall to scry. Unlike Selebri, Vannifor can use the flowerfalls exclusively without her pearl, and prefers doing so.

Vannifor is starting to slowly gain confidence back after spending more time with Neuer and visiting her birth world, and has figured out how to use the prediction magic that Selebri taught her to assist Aloe during Mire training sessions. He really appreciates it and sometimes will appear and drag her off with him when he's having a bad day in the mire since she's a real help.

Her body is starting to slowly change, just like Neuer's has, due to world shifting. Vannifor has successfully taken on the ability to shift worlds at will at this point. While she has retained her colours, she is beginning to look as though her body is made of water. She will turn into water in order to vanish into the world where she was created in, as well as to generally shift away from conflict--she no longer requires Neuer's assistance to go there.

She will often depart by giving her conversation partner a pat or faire la bise, grinning, and then shifting into water and vanishing.

Recently, Vannifor & Neuer have kind of kicked off a thing together.
