Biography
(Lore under construction!)
These elusive dragons hide in deep waters, biding their time to grow into power. They are gifted in creating illusions and have limited shapeshifting ability. Juveniles swim against currents in the sea and storms in the sky, tempering their smooth scales into armor. The older or stronger of their kin who challenge the most violent of storms bear glittering mantles of bronze, silver, gold and gem like scales the hues of ocean depths. They favor regions plagued with natural disasters, possessing the adaptation to consume volatile energies as part of their sustenance.
Quote:
An old folktale among fishers and carp keepers in the orient tells of a wounded snake who, caught in a fisherman's net, cast an illusion to disguise itself as a carp with glimmering scales so beautiful, the fisher decided to nurse it in a pond. The carp shed gold and silver scales the fisher used to better the lives of his family, and then his neighbours. Soon the settlement flourished into a little bustling port.
One fateful day, a dangerous storm was approaching from the sea. The sky, turned dark as night boiled with molten veins of lightning. Whorls churned in tempestuous waters, summoning waves to climb and climb, looming towards the docks. Chaos was upon the streets as beastkin abandoned their homes to run inland. But those who looked back saw a gaint carp with glimmering scales fly and plunge into pregnant clouds. They say it turned into a snake writhing as though coiling spools of lightning from the sky like golden threads. And just like that, as the carp-snake frolicked in the sky, the approaching storm receded peacefully. And the creature too, disappeared.
