It was very late when it happened.

Diablo was on her watch, and a good thing too. Anybody else would have disregarded the dark mass descending slowly in the distance, but thankfully, Diablo is half blind and deeply paranoid, so she believed it to be a school of maren coming for us in a bizarre new attack pattern.

She woke Athyla and the warriors, along with Irving and Shui, the only water faes, to go on a reconnaissance mission. They didn’t get very far out before Shui came shooting back, screaming for Verica to go out with a bubble to carry back the injured dragon.
