B I O G R A P H Y
Pyro was born within an artificially fashioned egg that was concieved by esteemed Arcane geneticist, Gaoler Keeper, and member of Athibia, Linus Grim. The egg consumed a lot of magic and resources and so only one was made. As such, Pyro had no clutch siblings. Their parents were anonymous donors from Athibia, and kept a secret from all save for a small group which huddled over the egg with bated breath on that early morning. Among them was Professor Grim, who was more excited to see if the artificially born dragon would actually survive, rather than it serving the purpose it was born for. He was the first to report any movement coming from within, as he monitored it and its development closely. "It may be several more hours before the hatchling breaks free," he reminded his colleagues on the Athibia "Should we have other work to do, we should see to it, there is no rushing a dragonet...important or not...they will come when they feel like it is time, such is the whim of children," Aside from the keeper Linus other Gaolers; mostly from the overseer order, also watched with over the egg with stern expressions. Formidable and imposing warriors who carried out their work diligently and without remorse. Among them were Aurorette Dhummem, Rosamunde Heihinde, Sizoh Milbovrovra, and Aldrich Vehpuld from the order of the overseers and one Gaoler of the Seeker order: Omur Nethershadow. Without a word of response they stood vigil and watched the egg as the barge rocked back and forth. Swaying them silently along as well. - The cold, sterile, steel walls of their room were all that they knew. Outside the barge they had never ventured, and this far out at sea...they could never hope to swim to shore. Training was brutal vicious. Though only a child still, they bore many scars which criscrossed through their thick fur and tough hide. Despite the lack of stimulation in the small metal enclosure, it was still more welcoming than trying to utilize breath attacks against Omur as the ship rocked and lurched in the ocean storm. Sprawled out on their bed, [REDACTED] stretched out their long and lanky body. They were much less broad and muscular than the other Gaolers on the Athibia. Omur loathed this fact and insisted that they eat more and train more. Truth was that [REDACTED] could not stand the food served on the Athibia most of the time. The barge would occasionally send a smaller boat to pick up supplies at a port, but other than that it remained completely isolated on the open water. Outside of the heavy metal door the sound of approaching voices reached their ears. Even without the tone, or the words, it was easy to pick up the mood and who was approaching. [REDACTED] long ears flicked in agitation. They recognized the heavy, lopsided, dragging gait of Omur as the massive Seeker limped down the hall. His leg had been destroyed by a horrorbeast, but that didn't stop him from being an absolute menace to train with. Their shoulder still ached from the blow they had recieved this morning that had ultimately ended the session. Alongside Omur was Aurorette, who walked speedily with purpose...which forced Omur to walk faster, and he wheezed as he struggled to keep up with her brisk pace and speak with her all at once. "Too distracted" "By what? The room is empty. [REDACTED] has nothing but schooling and training. There is nobody [REDACTED] age save for [REDACTED]. No interaction aside from us and the others?" "Not training well," "I told you and Rosamunde that we would need to swallow our pride and invest in seeking out somebody from among the ranks of—" "Absolutely not." "Then we will have a useless bi-elemental without access to fire magic." This argument again. Interest was lost swiftly, and they rolled over in bed as their two guardians passed their bedroom door. [REDACTED] closed their eyes and sighed against the mattress. Feeling the way the ship rocked and bobbed in the fading tempest. Listening to the sounds of the barge as it and its residents began to quiet down to rest. - Blood soaked their ragged fur and they looked up to see Omur staring down dissaprovingly at them. They expected that and it didn't hurt. It never really had. "Do you know how hard it was for me to get this thing for you to train with?" He asked harshly, with a snarl. His snout wrinkled with disgust as he stared down at their bloodied, broken body. White teeth and pale, apathetic eyes forced them to look down and away. "No. Sir." They answered quickly, clearly, but monotone. "Damn hard! Smuggling this thing out of the icefields about cost us everything. For what? A useless bi-elemental that will serve nothing to the Warden." He scoffed, shaking out his thick mane as he shoved the cage with the shade beast within backwards. It rattled loudly. "If you can't handle this lesser shade creature, then what are you going to do when you finally meet Facimika? Your whole purpose was to put away that wretched thing, but you cannot even do this!" They remained silent and clenched their jaw "Go to the doctor. I have had enough of your uselessness for one day," Omur dismissed them with a flippant wave of his large paw - From the sea ice they bobbed upon, they watched it burn. That wretched place which had contained them for so long. They clutched their seared and withered arm against their side, shivering wet and cold on the ice floe they had clumbed upon as the distant smoke rose on the horizon as the blazing inferno that was once the Athibia sunk into the dark waters. What a glorious sight it was to finally be rid of that tortuous place. To be free if only for a while. So what if they perished here at sea? It was far better than residing within the cold steel walls of that awful barge. Bombarded by the emotions of others, and the horrorbeasts that Omur brought back to torture them with. Kneeling down they exhaled a long, warm breath, it coiled up into steam around them. Even though it was cold, and even as the wet clothes clung to their body making them shudder, they felt warm. As warm as that burning flame that had extended from their hand and set that cursed man alight. So long Omur. So long Linus. So long others....now free, they could be anything they wanted. If only for a little. |

They were also trained using an experimental type of isolation to be able to sense the energy of Shade creatures by Professor Linus Grim. While successful, it caused great distress in Pyro alongside their brutal physical training. As such, Pyro has grown into a volatile and observent individual who often becomes violent at any indication of conflict. They read others disturbingly well, and sometimes uses this to de-escalate confrontations, or, to get a rise out of somebody they are suspicious of. After destroying the Athibia, Pyro fled to the Southern Icefields and wrecked havoc with their newly found Fire magic. Word of their existence reached The Icewarden, Eberict and intrigued him as they were born and kept underneath his nose. They were captured, and were to endure much more imprisonment and observation than they would have preferred. Pyro makes many escape attempts, and while some succeed, they are regularly recaptured soon afterwards due to their tendency to leave a path of burning destruction wherever they go. These violent outbursts have earned the Goaler the title of "Scourge of the South". It is one they wear proudly. https://youtu.be/2nSAWgdraAo |
