His mind is active 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and to keep it from burning out Technus has made many modifications, which means his brain now has more microchips than a standard rocket. At the last scan, the ridgeback's mental capacity has increased by 61%, with no signs of slowing down. With each increase, Technus is able to download more information, and he currently has access to great databanks of various scientific branches, allowing him to master astrophysics, zoology, molecular biology, advanced mathematics, chemistry and many more, all at the flick of a switch.
For years the ardent scientist has designed and built technology to do all sorts of strange things to the draconian body. The voltvolley implements Technus wears have been modified to power his lifeforce with a kind of energy loop, so that while using the item sleeping and eating become unnecessary, and the headpiece contains ports for direct databank uploads and downloads. These breakthroughs have allowed Technus to run many projects continuously and simultaneously, maximising his efficiency, but minimising his already scarce social interactions. Deciding to rent workspace in a clan so he could discuss his ideas with likeminded individuals, the ridgeback joined The Lastsparks, and took the lab opposite Khrome, a fae chemist and mathematician.
Finally surrounded by other members of the scientific community, Technus has become more inspired than ever, though his current research has taken on a more altruistic direction. Wishing to improve The Lastsparks productively, and correctly guessing that experimental brain surgery is not the best way to go about it (though he still hasn't ruled it out entirely), Technus is researching how neurotech can be used in other branches of science, and possibly even magic too. Some of his recent trials have indicated that under the right conditions, bio-organic tissue could potentially be grown and manipulated for use in automata CPUs, meaning a new generation of robotics could soon evolve.
The results of this new line of study could have far-reaching consequences for the future of industry in the Shifting Expanse. Rumour has it that the Stormcatcher’s own limited company is funding the research - The Boss ever keen to stay ahead of progress and continue the Lightning flight’s monopoly on the technology of Sornieth.
