Biography
Atticus found Drisa on the same journey he stumbled across Chenqing and Wangji, though in a different area of the world. His first journey into shadow was nearly his last, chasing down a tasty prey for the two new hatchlings in his satchels to eat. Drisa saw the green Guardian being led into a trap, and jumped from her safe hiding place to hover in front of him, forcing him to swerve to avoid her and warning him before he made a fatal mistake.
She had no memory of her parents, and had been surviving by hiding from the other predators and eating grass and bugs for her first few days of life. A grateful and indignant Atticus offered her a better life - and the handsome pair of hatchlings peeking out from behind his talons caught Drisa's eye. Mesmerized by the pair, she'd easily agreed and joined the Windborne Tribe on the Plateau.
Drisa is a particularly fey and unsettling Veilspun, prone to singing eerie songs and fits of fragmented prophecy - or possibly waking nightmares resulting from those first few days on her own in Shadow. She has an interest in herbalism, particularly poisons and their cures, and claims that she can read the future in the stars reflecting from the hide of Chenqing, and the past in the hide of Wangji. She tends to get caught up sometimes in Artemisia's adventures, and is particularly watched over by a protective Aetherna.
She has fallen into the role of speaker for the Veilspun swarm in the Tribe, and is in many ways their leader; though her decisions don't always make sense at the time and she never explains why she gives the instructions that she does, they often prove to have been the right ones in the long run.
