“This clan needs change,” Neophyte began, “Having two angry leaders does not bode well for the clan... Crocker and Griselda, I decree them unfit to rule."
With those fateful words, Marina decided it was time to take charge. Knowing that Neophyte was fair, she secretly plotted to end Crocker and Griselda's horrifying reign. Marina regained Crockers trust by providing him with food for several nights, and sharing a nest with him for a clutch. While he was weak from breeding, she slipped him a poison in his nightly meal.

It paralyzed him and she quickly put shackles on him, blindfolded him and threw him in the jail at the back of the lair. After Crocker had been taken care of, she hired Sketch to seduce and do the same to Griselda. Since he had been planning to overthrow the clan for months, he jumped at the opportunity and quickly got to work seducing her. Once she was weakened from the breeding, he paralyzed her with the cape and locked her in the jail. After this was done, Marina informed the clan that there had been a change in rulers. She was the new matriarch. Anyone who had a problem with that could take it up with the new clan scribe, Jane, Crockers previous mate, who was thought exalted. There would be no more violent outbursts or fear in the clan. The clan was reborn.
