Flo was wracked by a Hellwell pox early in life that left him scarred and disfigured. Though with time he has grown comfortable in his own skin, that was not true for many years. He turned his focus on helping others who found themselves in a body that felt disparate from their selves. Flo turned away from home to study the transmutative sciences in the Arcane region for some time, working with other ex-Plague mages to learn how to specialize his natural magic closer to the body. Now, Fluoracil is an expert in dragon transmutation, and is able to drastically change a dragon's features in a process that, when concluded, results in the dragon being altered both physically and mentally into an entirely different breed. Though he cares about the work he does and the dragons he does it for, his services come with a high fee, as each spell must be hand crafted to be able to work on its intended subject. Fluoracil, or Flo, grew up in the Plague Flight. He was raised under the philosophy of the Plaguebringer, and though he loves his family, he does not often think back fondly on his time spent with them. He is still unsure to this day what illness it was that afflicted him in the Wasteland. But he does know that when he lay on the den floor, body wracked with pain and too weak to move for himself, his siblings refused to ease his suffering in any capacity, instead opting to pray to the Plaguebringer that their brother would be of the Strong that survived. Survive he did, though not without cost. The pustules that had densely covered parts of his body never fully healed, instead scarring together in patches across his face, wing, and flank where hair would never grow again. Though with time he has grown comfortable in his own skin, that was not true for many years. When he found that no healers existed who could heal the rot of the Hellwell disease, he instead turned his focus on helping others who found themselves in a body that fell disparate from their selves. Flo turned away from home, studying the transmutative sciences in the Arcane region for some time, working with other ex-Plague mages to learn how to specialize his natural magic closer to the body. In time, he set out across Sornieth to offer his services to those in need, and has found a comfortable client stream based in the Fulgurite Chasm.
Now, Fluoracil is an expert in dragon transmutation, and is able to drastically change a dragon's features in a process that, when concluded, results in the dragon being altered both physically and mentally into an entirely different breed. Though he cares about the work he does and the dragons he does it for, his services come with a high fee, as each spell must be hand crafted to be able to work on its intended subject. Flo asks a litany of questions, the responses to which he carefully records in an intensive interviewing process. If it is an option, he also prefers to spend some personal time with the dragon, following them throughout the day both to engage in conversation and to act as a passive observer. Once he has gotten a sense of what, specifically, his client needs, he begins work on their spell. His spells are designed on specialized scrolls and can take a number of days to complete. When finished, he will call the client back to him. The spell can then be transferred onto their skin, where Fluoracil begins the tattooing process. His ink contains his own magic, and upon taking to the skin it almost immediately begins to fade, soaking into the flesh of the dragon. In about two days, it will be almost completely gone, leaving naught but a faint glow, and its receptor will have begun developing features of their new desired breed. They return to the artist anywhere up to a dozen times over the following days and weeks, depending largely on what kind of drastic body changes are occurring. Transformations are not typically painful, but dragons have reported itchiness as fur or feathers sprout where before there were none, and an intense feeling of discomfort where new spikes develop. The most tedious transformations, however, tend to occur where drastic changes of size are involved. In these cases, Flo advises the client to take it as slow as they are able. Rapidly gaining or losing immense amounts of mass can be highly traumatic to the body, so sessions tend to be spread out over a longer span of many weeks.
