Woe is the matriarch and founder of the Kingdom of the Crest. After a series of cryptic dreams calling her to find a mysterious crown, she abandoned her old life to seek it out. Her mind is now filled with whispers of a voice that is not her own, one which urges her to set it free.
Woe was hit surprisingly hard by Lippia’s death, though she’d never admit it.
Woe and Kelvin have been spending more time together recently. Woe won't explain why.
Woe didn't want to believe that Kelvin was dead, at first. She didn't want to believe that she was alone with it.
Woe's children are gone. Dead. Just like the others. She was a fool to think things would be different.
"You will not die." Woe reaches out, claw after claw, dragging herself out of the crater even as her body screams in agony. "You will not die." Her limp wings scrape painfully along the rubble of her royal court as she climbs. "You will not die." Someone screams as she lifts herself over the edge of the hole. As she looks over her terrified subjects, Woe musters up the strength to speak a single phrase. "I will not die."
Woe looks upon her kingdom with pride. Despite all the hardship, despite all the death, on this day it thrives.
Woe has seen them before. The monsters that threaten to destroy her kingdom. She has seen them in her dreams. In her nightmares.
Woe knows the Coronet is displeased. Although she cannot explain to her subjects the source of the illusory onslaught, she vows to do her best to protect them from It.
The three had been wandering blindly through a maze of underground halls and tunnels for days. After days of nonstop walking, they were exhausted - yet as if called by an irresistible compulsion, they continued onward.
Now, they would see the fruits of their labour. The colossal wooden door - the one they had each seen in their dreams - stood ajar before them, adorned with an antlered hourglass insignia. They did not dare speak.
The room inside was exactly how they remembered it: the two pillars in the center of the room, a giant imperial statue sitting between them - and the lectern that it held in its claws. There, carefully splayed across an identical pair of cracked tablets, was the prize of their search: a golden coronet, gleaming beautifully in the dim light. For a long moment, each of the dragons were given pause.
Then, Woe stepped forward, running her claws carefully over the band of the crown. As Lippia and Kelvin stared, she slowly and carefully lifted it off of the lectern and placed it into her head. The air stood still.
Then, suddenly, Woe turned to face the two. She spoke with an air of commanding authority, shattering the crushing silence.
“This shall be the site of our Kingdom. The Kingdom of the Crest.”

The statue watched in silence as they left his chamber.
Long live the Queen.
