Biography
The sound of dry bones rattled through the sandstone cavern. Ceres, the brightest of the moons, poured a thick purple light down the walls and across the sand that swallowed the creature’s claws with each step. One head seemed to determine the route as the other dozed, and both tails whipped silently behind. Beneath the external skeleton that scraped restlessly across the creature’s angular frame, a symmetrical row of crimson eyes descended both necks and each side of the torso.
———
The twin-headed, dual-tailed monstrosity armored in an external skeleton clearly not their own, crept across slabs of jagged, raw granite and breadths of soft, sinking sand. Their desiccated body offered no cushion to mute the grotesque rhythm of their jutting frame colliding with the bones they had taken, so with each languid step they emitted a dry clatter.
It would seem that a mere personification of death had not satiated the morbid taste of the demon that had wrought the creature. So he had cast rows of crimson eyes up and down the dragon’s flank. These orbs with their swiveling, slotted pupils, independently probed the darkness of the cavern. One tracked the careful progress of a tarantula, while its neighbor attended to a vacant snake hole. One head watched the sky, which could be seen intermittently beyond the looming sandstone. The other planned their steady progress.
They did not leave the cavern until the setting sun had bled itself dry and the dunes had assumed an ethereal glow beneath Ceres, the largest and brightest of the moons.

Klitter, clatter, clack clack clack
Once gone too far, you can never come back
Either wisdom you practice, or doom will descend
But all life must come to some sort of end
And then the rising
Klitter, clatter, clack clack clack
Struggle and flutter, efforts end in a crrrrrack
These bones you now wear are part of your skin
But you’ll soon forget what you had once been
This is the rising
Klitter, clatter, clack clack clack
To your lord you must answer, an order to attack
Forget all their faces, should your lives overlap
You will soon outlive your loved ones, let it all fade to black
And clack… clack… clack.
