She seems to have a special connection to the element of flame and the Flamecaller. Adept at goldwork, Steppe's intuition for the work shone through even as a hatchling when she was learning from Ralask. Mute from birth, ahe communicates in a sign language developed by herself and Ironfang.

Businesslike and sharp as a whip, with a no-nonsense attitude that belies her deeply compassionate nature. She’s naturally accumulated a lot of responsibility in the Clan, and many thus see her as Ralask’s successor, though no formal agreement exists. She keeps the forges running and is in charge of the other forgeworkers.
