Biography

(Note from Opallioth):
Survivor is deemed mute, and also seems to refuse to communicate in anyway. It has been proven he is not deaf, yet, he still does not respond verbally when spoken to. When offered a paper and pen, he pushed it away, clearly looking very upset. This effort will continue until we solve the unfortunate issue, but he will still be considered one of us. We found him in this place heavily injured, having inflicted damage from a source unknown to this day. We tended to his wounds, explained what we know, and he has stayed loyal to us since the day he was discovered. "Survivor" is a nickname we've referred to him as, because he has no way to tell us his real one, and it's fitting. Besides, even though he's nonverbal, I'm keen to believe that he likes the title.

(... Tick 7.88)

Survivor didn't understand the huge deal with being nonverbal, he never spoke much anyways, and wouldn't speak more now that he was in Glimmering. Yes it's true that he's been much more confident here, however, this isn't an issue with confidence. Survivor simply just doesn't like speaking, for it stresses him out and can be much too hard to do in some occasions, so the simple solution is to not speak at all. Nobody likes this, which upset him, but eventually they got over it, and have accepted the shy coatl with open wings as their brother. The one dragon that is especially welcoming is the Tundra named Abave, who never minded him sitting around and watching whatever he was up to; company is always nice. They laugh together, smile together, and overall make great memories together, great friends destined for each other.
But things lately have been... Different.
Last time Survivor tried to enter Abave's den, he wouldn't let him come in, saying "not today." Even more, he hasn't seen the Tundra in ages, so long he worries he might have ran away, or worse, has started to reject the nonverbal coatl. So Survivor is trying again, approaching the entrance to his den worry churning in his stomach. "What if I'm wrong for disturbing him?" is a thought that races through the coatl's mind, alongside several others. But there was no turning back, for Survivor was now standing in front of the curtain that separates the den from the outside, listening to the snores of the sleeping Abave inside. No, he wouldn't want to disturb the tundra, but what harm would it be to look inside? He's been in there forever, surely there's something.
Survivor pushes the curtain to the side, flickering his tongue, and quickly drawing back from the sharp taste of damp fur. The room was dimly lit, aside from the occasional breeze that blows through the window and rustles it's blinds, letting in a slim glare. There were several books and papers scattered across the floor or hung on the walls, covering the interior entirely. The desk was somehow messier, with random trinkets and tools randomly placed about it, with the rest being cover by more paper. And at the center of it all was the dragon himself: Abave, curled into a ball and resting on nothing but the presumably cold floor, shifting every once and awhile, with a small quilt covering his snoring head. Survivor stood and stared for a moment, hesitating while he takes the madness in, before taking a step in. He places his feet slowly and precisely, careful not to touch anything that may crumple or snap or pop or make a bang so loud it would echo down the halls and bring every dragon to alert, including Abave. After slowly creeping across the floor, he finally reaches the desk, and observes the notes scattered along it. One of them read the following:

Test 5:
Directions: /\/\/\\/\\/\\\\\/\/\\/\\\/\/\\\\/\\\\/\/\/\\/\\/\//\\/\/\/\\\/\/\/\//\\/\\\/\/\\/\/\/\/\/\/\\/\/\/
\/\/\/\\\\/\//\\/\----

Results: Same result as Test 1
Notes: Somebody has been scratching out parts of my recordings, and I need to figure out who. I'm not confident what I did originally is exactly what I did on this test, but it seems I may have done the same thing.

The rest of it seem to carry on, however, it was torn off. Survivor looks through the rest of the papers, the test number continuously increasing, but still not clearly stating what they were for. The objects and tools were even more confusing, though probably because Survivor didn't know what most of them were. The coatl turns to look over at the slumbering Abave, the one responsible for this clutter of paper, and wonders why these tests existed in the first place. Perhaps he was just trying to understand this world; yes it was a gift, a haven for dragons deserving of it, but it wasn't entirely understood. The frozen fractals are nothing like the ice and snow of Survivor's home, there were similarities sure, but they were far from being the same.
Survivor hears a grunt, and whips his head around, only to see Abave rolling over in his sleep, eyes furrowed from a possible dream. By doing so, the tundra reveals to be holding a larger sheet of paper, clutching it to his chest, slightly crumbling it with his furry paw. The words were facing outwards, so, out of curiosity, Survivor leans forward just close enough to read part of it:

... I traced the pattern's landmarks, and quickly discovered that not only was it a map to this body of water, but a map that leads out of this seemingly endless place. I'm about to leave, but I'm leaving this note behind, in hopes that someone else will find it and be able to leave...

woah woah woah... hold on...

Abave was planning on... leaving??

Why would he think of such a thing? It's blasphemy! The Pale Feathered would not tolerate this. Not only was he planning on leaving, but he was hoping others would be able to follow suite. It's like if a hatchling were to receive piles of gold from their parents for being good, and the hatchling just throws it all into the sea!
Whatever Abave was planning, Survivor was furious, hissing and spitting his tongue out, and nudging the tundra awake. He jolts awake, jumping to his feet and spreading out his furry wings, knocking piles of paper over.
"Is everything alright?" He says instantly, worry filling his treacherous pink eyes.
Survivor opens his wings and turns in circles, gesturing to the contents of the room with his slit eyes and thrashing tongue. Abave's expression shifts instantly upon realization.
"It's not what it looks like," the tundra speaks in a calm voice, but the coatl still growls and hisses.
"Listen to me!" Abave grabs Survivors shoulders, shaking the furious dragon delicately.
"It's not what it looks like! You need to understand, I've discovered something incredible!"
His pink eyes were sincere, begging, jittering back and forth within their sockets, but Survivor didn't know what he could trust now. The coatl pushes away, glaring at the traitor one last time with a scowl before throwing himself out of the den. He hollers loudly, louder than he has before, he hollers. Survivor needed everyone to know as soon as possible, for a traitor was amongst them, a traitor that could tear them apart from the inside out like a plague.
