Patch

It's easy to question where Patch came from.
Certainly nobody from the patch remembers fluff hatching, fluff was just... there one day. Patch didn't move much at first, just laying there oddly, as if fluff was a toy that had been abandoned in the patch, especially with the stitching on fluff's body and occasional stuffing puff from a ripped seam.
Fluff didn't always glow in such a way either. That started around the same time fluff's movement did. Life had been breathed into the fabric that fluff was made up of.
Whether fluff can truly be counted as a Watermelon is questionable as well. Coming to life in the patch, it was without question that Patch had been raised by and brought up around melons, and even considers fluffself one - even if fluff's rind and flesh was made of cotton rather than fruit.
There was no growth that came about for fluff, at least physically. While Patch's so called "siblings" grew in size and strength in accordance with their breeds, fluff never changed, staying small and soft. However, while fluff never got any larger, the very magic that brought fluff to life continued to swell within fluff, making up for the size fluff so desperately lacked.
As fluff's siblings grew up and left their parent's sides, Patch quickly learned that they would never be able to do the same. Whatever magic had brought this family to life and still flowed through their veins was the very same magic that had awoken the little plush toy. If fluff was to survive, fluff needed to be with Watermelons. There was no doubt about that.
Despite being raised by Rindly, Patch now lives with fluff's "grandfather," Lanatus. Though a much smaller patch, Patch is at home among the other dragons whose very live had been brought about by magic.
