Currently, nothing.
Uh-oh, looks like this ambitious spirit-in-training travelled a little too far from their home lair, (Volrin, #261879) and now they're off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, they'd really appreciate it if you could just return them to their home lair, to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here, or to the hub if you don't want another dragon in return. This is not necessary, but they would be very grateful!

Spectre goes by they/them pronouns, and it would be greatly appreciated if you used those in any lore that you write for them.

Spectre would like to receive a permanent home someday, so if you'd like to adopt them after they've been travelling long enough, just let Volrin know!

Biography:
Spectre was born semi-undead, due to the undead blood of their father and grandfather before them becoming diluted by that of their living mother. Due to this, they came out of their egg with the uncanny ability to turn into an intangible, drifting spirit form for a few minutes at a time!

The young Pearlcatcher needs to rest for a good hour or so after using their ghost mode, as they so call it. It's a very draining process for them, though they're currently working on endurance training to increase the amount of time they can use it for before tiring out and needing to recover. As a spirit, Spectre can travel on the winds much faster than they could ever fly or run, and they can even phase through walls and most solid surfaces -- though, they can also find themself repelled or even trapped by items lined with silver or salt. Spectre's sisters, Dullahan and Ghoulish, used to find great entertainment in trapping the Pearlcatcher in salt circles when the three of them were hatchlings, to Spectre's great chagrin.

The Pearlcatcher is now following in their father's footsteps as a travelling dragon, looking to further their endurance training by travelling between destinations in their swift ghost mode as much as possible, and finding clans that will welcome them in to rest. Spectre would probably feel most at home in the Windsinger's territory, where the twisting, gale-like winds would be perfect for furthering the development of their powers!

Travel Log:

UnknownConcept:
Spectre had already seen many places in their travels from the Sunbeam Ruins through the Scarred Wasteland and the Starfall Isles. So far, they had grown confident in traveling the serene skies of this northern route in their ghostly form. It was taxing to alternate between spirit and physical form so much while making such a distance; but they'd been able to make substantial ground along the route and hadn't encountered any troubles. Still, they were intent on traveling south from the Isles into the chaotic gales of the Windswept Plateau to truly test their limits. They gathered their strength in the Tourmaline Archives before taking to the skies across the waters and toward the territory of Wind.

They were a bit nervous and with a sense of caution traveled through the territory in their normal form until they reached the Aergate. Once there, it was time to use the gate to boost up toward the greatest skies for travel. When the winds began frantically pushing Spectre upward and forward, they closed their eyes in focus and shifted into their astral form. Immediately, they felt themselves violently bend and twist in several directions at once. They couldn't tell what was up or down or where they had been before. They were moving fast, too, frightfully so. They spun and scattered and fought against the pull of the wind trying to tear their form apart. It was all too much-- they weren't ready yet. They felt their consciousness fade.

Spectre awoke to feeling warm-- yes feeling. They were alive and in their physical body. They could only hope they were still in one piece, too. They lifted their head, aching and dizzy, to see burnt rocky ground and glowing pools of lava in the distance. Next to them sat a star-cloaked Spiral who met Spectre's gaze with a small smile.

"I sensed a frightened spirit spinning every which way inside the Plateau," he said, "one strong enough to call out to me across the waters."

"Then this is...?" Spectre asked.

"You're on the shores of the Ashfall Waste," the Spiral confirmed. "I found your spirit tangled up in the Millmeadows and dangerously close to scattering. Strange, really. I've never met a spirit who was more mortal than not. I lent you some strength and you were quick to reconstitute. But not awaken. I thought it best to take you to calmer skies, so we find ourselves in the embrace of Fire. I'm glad to see you seem unharmed. I sense your spirit is well, correct?"

Spectre focused on their spirit self and confirmed that it was still within reach. They were too exhausted to actually shift. They nodded, "Yes, I think I'm alright. Thank you."

"A good dragon will always help those that need it in the moment. There's no need to thank me." The Spiral's kind words brought some comfort to Spectre. The two began to swap stories of travel and spirits and the spiral seemed deeply fascinated with Spectre's family history and gift. He offered Spectre food and gave some tips on how to best vitalize a soul as well as suggested some magical remedies that may help extend the amount of time they could stay in spirit form. By the end of their time together, Spectre felt much better. They wouldn't let the mishap in the Windswept Plateau deter them. It was time to take to the skies and continue their journey.

This project is to, basically, give [Gengyar] a giant lineage. Just because he's ugly doesn't mean his children will be! I want him to have a mostly, if not totally, unexalted lineage because IT IS AN HONOR TO BE THE SON OR DAUGHTER OF A LEGENDARILY UGLY DRAGON.
