Severin is a pirate who searches for gold and treasures. He is the Wayfinder of his pirate crew, which consists of Matchstick, Teagan, and Blacktip. He helps to navigate the sea and sky in search of gold. He first joined the crew when he accidentally stowed away in their storage room. The other dragons were not as hostile as Severin thought, but they were suspicious of him. But he quickly earned his spot on the crew when he helped navigate them through an area of ocean that was covered in thick, dense fog and whirlpools.

He is an expert at reading maps and can navigate through almost anything. He has proven his worth to his crewmates multiple times, and he is now an honored member of the crew. He is very close with the captain, Matchstick, because he was the one who made the decision to allow Severin on the crew in the first place. Severin views his crew as his family since he didn't really have much of a family, to begin with. He feels at home on the ship and he loves being a pirate.
