Biography

Vision Orb
Chevon does consider himself to be a very smart dragon. He knows about a lot of strange things. But what he is looking at now… It’s just too strange for him. Within this big room with high ceilings that he and his fellow explorers just entered, stand multiple pillars with glowing orbs inside of them. The orbs hum, maybe with magic, maybe with technology, Chevon has no idea which one. The other explorers are just as interested in the pillars as him. But none of them seem to feel the compulsion to just… To just touch one. To just fly up and touch one of the glowing orbs. The orbs have been here for years according to the lead scientist, so it shouldn’t be too dangerous. Right? Chevon wouldn’t be the first to touch them. Right? The feeling grows stronger and stronger and the humming of the orbs slowly drowns out the voices of everyone around the Mirror. Chevron feels his wings start to take off when suddenly he feels a paw touching his back.

“There’s something wrong with those things, I can feel it.” Next to Chevron stands the usually quiet junior scientist. Her eyes are fixated on the orbs, just as Chevon’s were just a moment ago. “I agree, we should stay away from them.”, he replies. The junior scientist nods, and flies off to talk to the lead scientist. But just at that moment, another explorer flies up to the highest orb with a mighty roar and tries to wrap his entire body around it. As soon as his skin touches the thing, the humming in the room becomes a loud buzzing, louder and louder until Chevon hears nothing else. He watches as the orb slowly consumes the scientist, like it’s sucking him into some sort of other dimension. And with a flash, the dragon is gone.

The humming stops. Everybody flees the building. All other dragons that felt the need to touch an orb have brutally returned to reality and burst into panic and screaming. Except, Chevon doesn’t hear any of it. He sees what’s happening, but all he hears is absolute silence. He has no idea what just happened. All he knows is that he has to get away from this place as soon as possible.
